Prayer of direction

Teach me how to live Lord. Lead me along the right path. Psalm 27:11

Have you had great need of the Lord in your life. Great need can help you draw near and seek God for overcoming anointing. The psalmist asks the Lord to teach and lead him. God can teach us how to live well and put us in the right direction. What a blessing to be taught and lead by the Lord.

Praise you Jesus, thanks for teaching and leading me.

Getting wisdom

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. Proverbs 4:7

The way you apply what you know is wisdom. Wisdom is important for everyday life. Do you know someone who is particularly wise? What is it about them that makes the difference? How can you apply what you know today?

Thanks Jesus, knowing you is everything. Please bless the day and help me apply what you teach me.

Drawing close to Jesus

It is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all your works. Psalm 73:28

It is good for one to draw close to God. Praise Jesus for all he has done in our lives. Where you put your hope is the direction you will go in. To put your hope and trust in God, praise will be the outcome. What are you thankful for in Jesus today?

Thanks Jesus for your faithfulness. I want to draw near to you today.

Prioritising Jesus

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul. Mark 8:36

Jesus places value apon one’s soul life. There is much you can gain in life and yet what is more important is a healthy soul life. When you prioritise a healthy life in Jesus, your entire life will be blessed. How can you grow in Jesus today? Is there anything you can give up that would help your soul?

Thanks Jesus for your wisdom. Help me prioritise you in my life.

Reason to rejoice

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness. Isaiah 61:10

You are saved! You are made right with God. Such reason to rejoice in Jesus as he has saved us and made us in right standing with him. Praise to God for salvation and righteousness in Jesus. We are set apart to live for him.

Thanks Jesus for salvation and righteousness in you Lord.

Mercy and grace

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Psalm 103:8

Knowing the character of God can encourage your faith. The Lord’s mercy is great. He doesn’t get angry easily. Thank God for Jesus’ mercy and grace. He has never given up on you. Imagine how much he believes in us.

Thanks Jesus for your great love, mercy and grace.

Free praise

Sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord all the earth. Psalm 96:1

God is creative in nature. There’s something really special about a new song. There’s a freshness and originality in that. Where do you start? There is much in the character of God that is timeless. Whatever is from your heart unto God, free praise. Have you the song of the Lord today?

Thanks Jesus, help me create something heartfelt and new to be sung today.

Declaring Scripture

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Good to remember that the word of God is powerful and as we declare scripture, in Jesus’ name, there is a reaction, the word changes atmospheres, lives. The Word is dynamic and accomplishes and prospers as the Word is declared.

Lord Jesus, thanks for the Word that changes lives. Help me believe and declare scripture today.

Peace

Mark 5:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

What do you do when you don’t know what to do? Find Jesus. Jesus was asleep during the storm and when the disciples woke him up, he caused a great calm. He has given us that authority in Jesus’ name. We can declare peace over situations and believe for calm. What can you pray over today?

Thanks Jesus for the faith to believe for peace.

Be not afraid

Be not afraid, only believe. Mark 5:36

Jesus spoke faith and comfort to people. When there’s a miracle about to happen, this is key to remember, to not be afraid, only believe. I like the word believer. It reminds me that we are ones who believe. Believing in Jesus. Believing for that miracle. Believing that God has something good in store.

Thanks Jesus for your love, belief and comfort. Help me walk in the miraculous, believing and not being afraid, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Every season

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

Life has ups and downs and what is true is Jesus is always there in every season. If you can live in the moment, praising the Lord, that has great purpose. Whatever season of life you are in, a student, a worker, parenting, God is there with you.

Thanks Jesus for being there in every season and purpose of life. Help me remember you in each day.

Jesus’s love

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39.

Thank God for Jesus’s love. Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God, in Jesus. Whatever happens in life, know that his love is there for you. Love that is pure and true. Whatever your day was like, be encouraged that Jesus’ love is the constant in your life.

Lord Jesus, thanks for your love that is always there.

Remembering Jesus

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26

When you take part in communion what a blessing. We are remembering Jesus Christ and what He did that we can all be saved. As we have communion, we are proclaiming Jesus death until He comes back. This is a powerful declaration of our belief in Jesus. Great purpose is there in remembering Jesus.

Jesus thanks for your sacrifice for all of us.

Needy for Jesus

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3

When you realise you are empty and need Jesus, that is a good place to be. God knows our need of him. Sometimes we can live in our own strength. The challenge is to live needy of Jesus. Do you realise your need of Jesus today?

Thanks Jesus for helping me know how much I need you.

Waiting on the Lord

I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. Psalm 40:1,2

What a day when you gave your life to Jesus and journey following him. As you wait on the Lord, He hears you and will lift you out of the pit and set your feet on a rock. Jesus will bring you stability standing in him. Praise the Lord for his deliverance and help as we wait on Jesus.

Thanks Lord, teach me to wait apon you, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus cares

Casting all your care upon him: for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Jesus cares for everyone, that he wants us to give everything to God. How many times have we carried worries and cares unnecessarily because Jesus cares for us. You can give Jesus all your care. The love of God is great towards you. What is something you could give to God today?

Lord Jesus, thank you for lifting burdens from me today. Love you Jesus.

Everyday praise

Everyday will I bless you; and I will praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. Psalm 145:2,3

It is good to bless the Lord and praise Jesus. He has greatness that is unsearchable. Reminds me of the universe. There is the known universe and then the unknown universe. Even what God has created is yet to be fully understood. What an awe inspiring God we serve.

Praise Jesus for who God is, all that he has done and will do.

Declaring praise

The Lord lives; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. 2 Samuel 22:47

Where there is exuberant praise there the presence of God is. God is alive. We are saved by him. Knowing God as your rock is  like immovable, solid and stable. That is who God is to our lives. Praise Jesus. What have you known of God personally that you can proclaim?

Thankyou Jesus, you are my rock. Praise your name, God the rock of my salvation.

Building up

The hope of the righteous is gladness. Proverbs 10:28

Of many places you could put your expectancies, in Jesus presence, that can  be the greater source of perpetual blessings from day to day. There are many ways of  building up your spirit, from prayer in the heavenly language and spontaneous praise and worship to church fellowship and times of quiet reflect.

Thankfulness Jesus for your presence, peace and love in the Holy Spirit.

Good remembering
