Journey of growing
A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel. Proverbs 1:5
If you can search for knowledge and gain wise counsel, you will benefit. Humility is realising you have much to learn. When you are on a journey to grow, you seek to know more; more about God and living for him.
Lord Jesus, thanks for being there always. Help me have a hunger to learn and grow in you Jesus.
Be strong
Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD! But you, take courage! 1 Cor 13:7
When you are waiting on the Lord, you can take courage as God is faithful. You don’t need to feel strong to be strong. As we read the Word, there’s a strengthening that happens. The Holy Spirit brings encouragement in every verse of scripture.
Thanks Jesus for your Word that can build us up, that we can take courage in you.
Community Life
Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. Psalm 149:1
How wonderful to praise the Lord as a corporate group of people. As we lift up songs of praise, the Lord is lifted up and everyone is edified. Community life is where people are encouraged as we praise Jesus together. There’s something fresh about new songs that causes us to reawaken to biblical truth.
Praise you Lord Jesus. Thanks for the opportunity to lift you up in corporate settings.
Delighting in Jesus
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14
Thank God that the Holy Spirit helps us follow Jesus and find that narrow path in Christ. We can live beyond distraction and in a life of discipleship as we follow Jesus. He always leads us to triumph in Christ Jesus.
Lord Jesus, you are the Lord of my life and I delight in following you.
Hearing the word
He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:28
We are learning to listen, because when you hear the word of God, the next step is to obey and that’s a blessed place to be. How grateful we are to have the Bible, that we can freely read the word of God. What is one verse or passage you could think about today and the application to your day?
Thanks Jesus for your word to us and your help to obey your word, amen.
Love of God
I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39.
Praise God for Jesus’ love. There is something very good about knowing you are the beloved of God. When you read the Word and spend time with Jesus, can you hear the whisper of the love of God. He communicates his love in the Word, like lettered love to us.
Thanks Lord Jesus, very grateful for your love and fellowship.
God that answers
I shall give thanks to You, for you have answered me, And you have become my salvation. Psalm 118:21
How much God has saved us from. Your testimony is powerful. The stories of the salvation of God in our lives help us believe for the future. God has a faithfulness that you know the Lord will answer and save.
Thanks Jesus for answering my prayers and being my salvation.
Living close to Jesus
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
When you live close to Jesus, you are kept safe in the Lord. Instead of worry you can have peace, instead of fear you can have love of the Holy Spirit. There is a shelter that God wants us to dwell in, the shelter of the most High. You will be at peace and at rest near to God.
Praise Jesus for the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
Bless the Lord
Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits Psalm 103:2
It’s easy to forget all the blessings that happen day to day. Praise can help us remember all the blessings in Christ Jesus. Praise Jesus! When you give thanks, you become filled with gratitude for everything Jesus has done and expectant of everything possible in Christ.
Bless you Lord. Thanks for all the blessings in you Jesus.
Alert and ready
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 6:18
When you are in a sports game you are alert and ready. That’s kind of like the verse that we are poised and ready in our prayer life. Believers every where can benefit from our prayer with persistence as well. That makes a difference in believers lives, praise the Lord. We are setting the benchmark when praying on every occasion. Whatever the day, that’s a good idea to pray.
Praise Jesus for the opportunity of prayer.
Jesus’ strength
The strength of those who wait with hope in the LORD will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won't become weary. They will walk and won't grow tired. Isaiah 40:31
As we spend time in the presence of God, there is new strength. You can catch the wind of the spirit like an eagle soars through the sky. Life can leave us weary, yet in the presence of God, we can run and not get weary. What a wonder is Jesus, that in him, we can be strong.
Praise you Jesus, you are my strength.
Everything we need
And now, Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you. Psalm 39:7
When you know your hope is in God, you are able to wait. You can put expectations on the Lord’s promises as they are written in God’s Word. Thank God for Jesus. In him we have everything we need.
Praise you Jesus, my hope is in you.
Rest for your souls
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
In Jesus, there is rest for our souls. When you feel like the burden is too much to bear, Jesus is there. He wants us to go to him with all we are carrying. Jesus’ burden is light. In the gentleness and humility of Christ, we can learn of him.
Thanks Jesus, that in you is all I need. Help me learn of you.
Living in Jesus
Living in Jesus
I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Galatians 2:20
The life we live on the earth is one believing in Jesus. Praise God, Jesus gave His life for each one of us. Now everything has changed because we are crucified in Christ Jesus. Living for Jesus is having great purpose, the kingdom of God moving forward every day.
Praise you God for the life of Jesus. Help me to live in the reality that my life is crucified in you Lord.
Jesus our God of peace
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. Romans 16:20
We may be in the middle at the moment, yet God knows how our story will finish. God wants to bring peace in our lives. He tells us that He will soon crush Satan under our feet. That’s the reality of being a Christian, God has already won the victory. When Jesus died on the cross, he won salvation for us.
Praise you Jesus, thanks for winning the battle for us and being our God of peace.
Being a listener
A plan in the heart of a man is like deep water, But a man of understanding draws it out. Proverbs 20:5
Being a listener can make people feel comfortable that they can talk and feel at ease. If you can have understanding, you can cause people to realise their plan. What a blessing to have faith friendships.
Is there a way you can build good friendships today?
Thanks Jesus for helping me with godly friendships.
Gratefulness
I love the Lord, because He hears My voice and my supplications. Psalm 116:1
When you are in such need of Jesus, there’s great comfort to know God hears your prayers. We are small and insignificant compared to the planets and galaxies and still God hears our prayers. Gratefulness for God that He has time for us.
Thanks Lord Jesus, I love you always. You hear my prayers, gratefulness.
Really living
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. Matthew 10:39
If you want to keep your life, you end up losing it. However when you lay down your life for Jesus, you find your true life. Of all the expectations you could have in your life, instead of hoping in the world, hope in Jesus. There your expectations will always be met. Jesus is always the same. You can lean on him.
Thank you Jesus that your purpose is good that to be set apart for you is really living.
Complete Love
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39.
Jesus has a love that is complete. There is nothing that can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Praise God. How much He loves us. Whatever your day was like, be encouraged that Jesus’ love is the constant in your life. As you praise Jesus, the overflow of that is the presence of God in Christ Jesus. When our lives enter in to the presence of God, worries are eased, our brokenness healed and close together in Jesus’ love are we.
Jesus thanks for your love, the constant in life.
Fear not
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
There are many verses in the bible that encourage us not to fear. Fear can stop you in your tracks. However the spirit God has for us is of power, love and self discipline. Our lives can live up to God’s promises, not to our circumstances. We can be brave because of the Spirit of God in our lives.
Praise you Jesus! You help us to live in your confidence, love and self discipline.
