Communication skills

A man’s discretion makes him slow to anger, And it is his glory to overlook a transgression. Proverbs 19:11

Having discretion is to have good communication skills. When my children are arguing over something small, I try to instil in them the value they have in each other. Your siblings can be the best of friends for life. We all have our days, and yet if we can find that value in others, we can create positive frameworks of communication.

Thanks Jesus for your help as we go about building quality friendships in the everyday.

Set apart

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1

We are born again and set apart for Jesus. Praise God. Seeking the Lord has great purpose. Heaven knows when we pray. Today is a good day to put Jesus first. Jesus is the light of the world and as we seek Him we shine bright for God.

Living the dream

Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery. 1 Timothy 4:14

When you are living the dream of following Jesus, you are in the centre of the will of God. There have been times where I have had to pickup my notebook from times before and be encouraged to press on in Jesus. Preaching notes and prophetic words kept, energise us to keep up the faith. What had caused you to be encouraged in your faith walk in Jesus?

Thanks Jesus, you always lead me to live for you and quicken the words you have spoken in times past.

Jesus’ compassion

Jesus wept. John 11:35

The shortest verse in the Bible and yet has so much meaning. I used to think why did Jesus weep because He knew He could raise him up from the dead. However Jesus was in the moment. He loved his friends and wept with them. He was compassionate about Lazarus and his friends.

Thanks Jesus for your great love. Help me love the way you love people, amen.

Impact

Let no one look down on youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:12

I have youth aged children and I delight when they are having fun being kids. At the shops today, Daniel my son was having fun, just being young, and I think that’s good. There’s no hurry to grow up quickly. It’s a great time of life to be living for Jesus, and they are able to really have an impact.

Thanks Jesus for the ability to live passionate for you.

Remembering Jesus

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26

When you take part in communion what a blessing. We are remembering Jesus Christ and what He did that we can all be saved. As we have communion, we are proclaiming Jesus death until He comes back. This is a powerful declaration of our belief in Jesus. Great purpose is there in remembering Jesus.

Jesus thanks for your sacrifice for each and every one.

Keep hope

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

Keep on believing that God will make a path through. As you take a step towards Jesus, He is right there. God is faithful to all His promises. Once I left my keys on the counter of the post office. I got back to the car and searched for my keys and then the post office closed. It wasn’t until the morning that the post office opened that I was able to get my keys from the counter. When you are waiting, God’s promises are the same. As we keep our hope in God, we know He is true to His Word.

Thanks Jesus for your faithfulness. Help me to keep believing every day.

Life journey

How blessed is the man who finds wisdom And the man who gains understanding. Proverbs 3:13

Learning is a life journey, that we able to grow and change. The Bible is like a map book to life, the Holy Spirit guides us every day. Thank God for the precious Holy Spirit. We can ask God for wisdom and He can help us get knowledge for life.

Thanks Jesus, you are my forever and always.

Jesus’ goodness

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Praise Jesus that in everything God causes things to work out well. As you go about your day, you can be mindful of the Holy Spirit that’s with you and is for you. What can you declare today of the Lord’s goodness?

Thanks Jesus that you cause all things to work together for good.

God purpose

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

God made each one of us special. Created for God purpose. The Holy Spirit goes before us to make a way for good works in Christ Jesus. In every day there is much to give thanks about. Thankfulness for God opportunities. Praise to Jesus for walking this path with us.

Lord, I thank you that you have gone before me today. Believing for miracles as I step in faith.

Hunger for Jesus

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long. Psalm 25:4-5

The desire you have for Jesus causes you to seek the Lord. There is much more to learn in Him. Like a river, the Lord has life for us, and can teach us and lead and save us. Waiting on the Lord is a good place to be. That hunger  you have for Jesus is precious to God.

Praise you Lord for being my salvation. Teach me your ways and guide me in your truth.

Practical Knowledge

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

When you have a hunger to learn more, how much the Lord can pour into your life.

The wisdom you need is there in the Lord, to practically carry out God’s promises in your life. We can be like sponges to the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Is the something you could ask Jesus for wisdom about today?

Thanks Jesus for the Holy Spirit that guides. Help me practically to live for you in everything.

Community life

As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17

Gratefulness for friendships that cause you to sharpen up and be better in life. Everyday life is meant for community because, together we can do more good. That friendship with Jesus is the greatest of all. What has God ministered to you of late in your daily walk?

Thanks Jesus for everything you are that you are the close friend that sharpens. Help me live well in community and build quality friendships.

Blessing the Lord

Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me bless His holy name. Psalm 103:1

When you will to praise Jesus, what follows is a blessing to Him. Genuine praise takes us into the presence of the Lord. What offering can you bring to Jesus today? As we pour out our hearts to God, Christ is glorified.

Knowledge for life

Possible with the Lord

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

Jesus wants us to rejoice always. Praise the Lord. Praying continually is a challenge, yet everything we are called to do is impossible, except with faith. God’s will is always that we would be found rejoicing, in prayer and giving thanks. What could you do today to build your faith in Jesus?

Thanks Lord for your continual love and friendship. Help me stay close to you.

Walking close to Jesus

Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forever. Psalm 86:10,11

Have you ever imagined walking with Jesus? Somewhere you can open up and share your life. This is an honest prayer moment in Psalms. What a prayer to pray! Amen. That’s the cry of our hearts to walk with Jesus and draw closer to Him. What prayer could you pray today that would delight the Lord?

Lord Jesus, I want to glorify your name and walk in close fellowship with you. Lead me in your truth and cause me to have an undivided heart to fear you Lord. Amen.

Hope in Jesus

We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice for we trust in His holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone. Psalm 33:20-22

The Lord is our help and shield. Gratefulness that in Jesus is our hope. Whatever the season of life, God is there. When you take a step closer to Jesus, He draws close to you. The one that made the planets and earth, cares about each one of us.

Thanks Jesus for who you are, praying your unfailing love surrounds us.

Strength and peace

The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. Psalm 29:11

The Lord has strength for your life. When you are about your everyday life, you can be aware of the Holy Spirit with you. Leaning on Jesus is not a weakness. When you are weak, then you strong in the Lord. What a blessing is being with the Lord.

Thanks Jesus for your strength and peace today.

You’re not done yet

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you. Isaiah 43:1b, 2

There is such comfort and compassion in Jesus. When you have a hard time, God will get you through. When you go on a journey you have a destination to get to. You can pass through waters, that’s not your destination. You could pass through rivers, you’re not done yet. You can walk through fire and that won’t even hurt you. That’s the miracle, you being delivered. God will see you through.
